Youth Tutor

International CITY, Mango House, Colfax & Galena

M-Th, 4 - 7 p.m.

  • Do you enjoy working with youth between the ages of 12 - 18?  ACC's Youth Program is looking for ELA and Math tutors to work with newly-arrived refugee students at least one evening a week for two hours to improve their basic skills. Materials will be provided. Volunteers who can commit to tutoring two evenings a week will be given priority.

Warehouse Assistant

Colfax & Leyden

anytime M-F, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Would you like to help sort through donations of furniture and household items for refugee housing and get items inventoried and organized?  We need you and your friends and family (kids over the age of 13 only, please)! 

Apartment Set-Up Team

usually along the east Colfax corridor

anytime M-F, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Do you have a flexible schedule?  Do you like to be physically active? We are looking for people who can be on call (with a couple of days notice) to help move and set-up furniture and household items for newly-arriving refugees.

Teahouse Participant

Sam Gary Library

every other Tuesday, 12 - 2 p.m. (8/22, 9/5, 9/19, etc)

  • Want to get to know some of the refugee women and children in your community?  Come to ACC's new initiative, Teahouse, to share snacks, art activities, and conversation. :) Kids are welcome.  No need to email about this one, you can just show up and join in the fun!

TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) Assistant

ACC Office, 5250 Leetsdale

anytime M-F, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

  • Are you a detail-oriented person who likes organizing and auditing paperwork?  Do you want to help refugee families receive cash assistance while they work towards self-sufficiency?  Our TANF team is looking for a volunteer who can commit to at least 3 hours a week.
