Fall 2026 Internships
The African Community Center of Denver (ACC) is seeking hardworking interns who are passionate about working with refugees and eager to gain professional experience in a non-profit organization.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide compensation for interns due to funding restrictions. All internships with ACC are unpaid at this time.

Refugee Intensive Case Management Intern
Guide. Strengthen. Impact. Use your experience in social work, psychology, or sociology to conduct case management activities for refugees with challenging needs that require special attention, including those with serious medical conditions, women at risk, and elderly refugees.
Refugee Resettlement Program Intern
Navigate. Refer. Support. Provide direct service to help refugees in Denver navigate access to basic needs like housing, transportation, food, and social service systems in order to access benefits. The intern will aid in improving the lives of refugees by ensuring that refugees’ lives are enriched through supportive services and community resources.
Food Access/Community Connections Intern
Improve. Access. Advocate. Leverage your interest in improving access to community resources and providing navigation services as our Food Access/Community Connections Intern. You will help lead ACC's Farm Stand and Marketplace Programs to immediately get resources into the hands of refugees while also connecting them to external providers. This role will aid in developing ACC’s community engagement programs to become more robust and supportive.
Communication and Development Intern
Engage. Educate. Expand. Build your communication and marketing skills while making a significant impact on refugees in Colorado! Create graphic design materials using Canva, research and develop social media posts, schedule social media posts across channels via Hootsuite, build email newsletter content in MailChimp, develop impact stories to share with donors and ACC supporters, and increase brand awareness for ACC.
Finance Intern
Promote financial stability. Apply your administrative skills to the non-profit world and impact the financial stability of our refugee community. As a Finance Intern at ACC, you’ll process and maintain ACC’s financial records, ensuring the organization can continue to provide critical services to the newcomer community.

Job Readiness Intern
Facilitate. Coach. Connect. Work closely with refugees and immigrants to prepare them to work in the United States. Responsibilities include facilitating ACC’s Job Club class and/or English Conversation Circles, creating employment and career plans, and assisting community members with resume development and job applications. Make a direct impact on the lives of newcomers by supporting families on the path to self-sufficiency as they transition to life in Colorado.
