Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with ACC! To become a volunteer, you’ll be asked to complete:

  1. Self-led online general orientation course

  2. schedule a new volunteer chat with our COMMUNIty engagement Manager

  3. Volunteer application

  4. Background check

To volunteer with ACC, you must first complete Training 1: General Orientation.

You will learn about:

  • Refugee resettlement in the United States and Colorado

  • Ways ACC supports refugees

  • ACC’s volunteer policies and the ABCD’s of volunteering with us

This course will take about 1 hour to complete, so please plan accordingly. Be sure to use the link provided at the end of the course to sign up for a New Volunteer Chat (via Google Meet) with our Community Engagement Manager in order to start volunteering. Lastly, you’ll be asked to submit a volunteer application and a background check before joining the team!

Please note that we can only accept volunteers who are located in the greater Denver Metro area. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer work sponsorship or VISAs for citizens of other countries. If you are not located around the greater Denver Metro area, we will not be able to place you as a volunteer.

NOTE: We have paused New Volunteer Chats for a few weeks. Once you have completed the course, you can sign up for a New Volunteer Chat time on July 21 or thereafter.

Interested in more specialized volunteer roles like our First Friends program? Information about additional training for these roles will be available upon completion of the General Orientation course linked above and subsequent call with our Community Engagement Manager.
